What To Expect

Egypt traces its history back further than almost any other country in the world. One of the earliest cradles of civilization, Egypt served as a port of call for various other venerable cultures. The country’s rich heritage is a point of pride for the locals and visiting Egypt is a unique opportunity to learn about the ancient world. On this 7-day program, you will see the great monuments and ancient antiquities of Cairo, the pharaonic architecture of Luxor, and the Greco-Roman influences of Alexandria all while enjoying the modern amenities of some of the best hotels Egypt has to offer.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from point of origin. Overnight flight to Cairo

 

Day 2: Upon arrival to Cairo, an expert local guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel. Stay overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 3: After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to Giza Plateau to visit the impressive Great Pyramids of the Three Kings – Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure. While there, you will also see the famous Sphinx, which keeps a constant vigil over the imposing burial sites. Your next stop will be the Necropolis of Saqqara, which boasts Egypt’s oldest pyramid and the first rock-cut building in history. End your day with a trip to Memphis – one of the capital cities of ancient Egypt and a center of worship for the god Ptah. Afterwards, you will be transported back to your hotel in Cairo where you will stay overnight. 

 

 

Day 4: After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon landing, you will be taken to visit the Luxor and Karnak Temples which rest on the eastern bank of the Nile. These temples are two of the largest religious sites from the ancient world. After exploring the complexes, you will be taken to your hotel in Luxor where you will have the opportunity to relax for the rest of the day. Stay overnight in Luxor. 

 

Day 5: Breakfast included at your hotel. This morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel to take you to the various archaeological sites located along the western bank of the Nile. This includes the Valley of the Kings where you will see the tombs of fabled rulers Ramses II and Tut Ankh Amon among others. After the tour, you will be taken to the airport by your guide for your flight back to Cairo. Upon landing you will be taken back to your hotel for an overnight stay in the city. 

 

 

Day 6: After breakfast at your hotel, you will continue your journey through Egypt’s history by visiting the Museum of Antiquities. The museum has one of the most complete collections of the country’s ancient relics. Afterwards, you will be taken on a city tour and see the influences from the country’s roots in Greco-Roman, Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions. Once you are done exploring the city, spend the night in your Cairo hotel. 

 

Day 7: In the morning, you will be provided breakfast at your hotel before being driven by private vehicle to Egypt’s mediterranean gem, Alexandria. You will be able to see the strong Greco-Roman influences left behind by the conquering armies of the city’s namesake. The tour will start off at the Alexandrian catacombs which are the largest Roman burial site in Egypt. You will also see famous sites such as Qaitbey’s Citadel, The Royal Palaces and Gardens, and the modern Alexandria Library. After this fully-packed day you will be taken back to your hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay. 

 

Day 8: Breakfast at your hotel and transportation to the airport for your flight home.

 

End of program.
